Heritage 7

Here is the last page I finished this weekend. I think it is my favourite one yet! I used the new River Rock paper with the Cranberry crisp paper and ink. I used the baroque motifs stamp set and used my cuttlebug to emboss the vellum and cut the title letters.

Preview stuff is here!

It finally arrived! The SU stuff that I ordered out of the preview catty. It is so great. I like the new In Colours more than I thought I would. Things are always better in person than in a picture. I ordered the pick a petal, baroque motif, hugs and wishes and holidays and wishes stamps. I ordered the multipack of the new in colour papers, the soft sky patterned paper, ink, and the pomegranite and blue bayou inks. Now I wish I had the river rock ink pad too. I like it much more now that I have seen the paper in person. The new circle rhinestone brads are awesome too! I have made a few cards (pictured in background). Now I just have to get my hands on the new SU Catalog. I can't wait to see all the new sets in it.

I love the large flourish in the baroque motif set. It is really pretty for backgrounds on my scrapbook pages. It will be very pretty embossed too. I wasn't too sure about the pick a petal set, but I have seen a few ideas and have made a few cards of my own.

Heritage page 6

This page is of another great grandmother. I had the opportunity to get to know her a little. She was born in 1898 and lived until 2001. When I attended college, I would go to her apartment to visit her and she would make dinner for us. She was in her 90's and she still lived in her own apartment. A few times we went downtown to the city centre mall in Sudbury. The photo in this page is of her in 1952. I love it.

Heritage page 5

This is another page done with the same great grandmother later in life with her husband. I love these new soft sky designer papers from Stampin' Up. It goes really well with the black and white photos and the black cardstock.

Heritage page 4

I have been working on these older black and white photos again for my heritage album. This is my great grandmother when she was around 17. I never had the opportunity to meet her. She was a beautiful lady.

Heritage page3

This page uses the pallette o prints patterned paper from Stampin' Up. The black and amythest colour scheme really go well with black and white photos. It is hard to see in the photo, but there is a corner doodle stamped in white ink on the lower left corner.

Heritage page2

Here is a page I made tonight. I am loving these black and white photos. This picture includes two of my Grandmothers brothers and their dad. I am using the K&Company Peabody scrap pad for most of this album so far.

Heritage page 1

A few weeks ago, I went to a Saturday night crop at Anything Goes and decided this was the time to work on some older black and white pictures of my parents and grandparents when they were younger. It is so fun to work with the black and white photos. Here is a page using Stampin' Up's Au Chocolat paper. I like how it turned out. I love the brown and white patterned papers.

I completed the pages of my daughters 10th birthday party tonight. I loved how they turned out. It was a Hawaiian party so they played some games and did a couple of crafts and had some food of course. The weather cooperated that day, so the girls went out to do some skipping for a little while. On the first page I used the leftover flower jewels (we used them on the bracelet they decorated) like little bullets around the circular part of the layout. I rarely if ever would use the gable green colour of cardstock, but this time it went great with the theme and colours in my photos.

10 already!

Yesterday my "baby" turned 10 years old! I can't believe how fast time really passes by. I can still recall everything from when I had her 10 years ago. How amazing she has turned out! I am anxious to see how she will grow into a teenager and later an adult, but I definitely don't want it to happen too fast! She is at a perfect age now, well most of the time anyways. She is very independent and strong and beautiful. Even over the last few months she seems to have grown up alot. Soon she will be taller than me, I am sure, and she will look down at me. There will be an adjustment for me when that day comes! Later today we are celebrating her 10th birthday with her friends at her luau party. She has her grass skirt and flower lei all ready to go. She has a lei for each guest that will come to the party. I am enjoying the lovely 19C weather we are having this weekend and it is the perfect time to reflect and be thankful for my wonderful Tiandra.

I managed to get a couple more pages done in my cruise album. Both pages are with pictures we took during our visit to the El Yunque Rainforest in Puerto Rico on the last day. It was so pretty there. I have only two more pages to make and then I will be done.

Cards, cards, cards

My mom came to visit me for Easter weekend and we had a great time. We made plenty of cards together. We both enjoy making cards and other paper crafts. I love the Stampin' Up spring flowers and spring showers patterned papers. They are really beautiful. We made 25 cards using those two papers and no two were the same. We also used alot of the prima flowers on them. These little flowers are so beautiful and coordinate so well with these papers. We also did some shopping (well, lots) during the weekend. We hit our local scrapbook store - Anything Goes, where we had to buy more of these wonderful prima flowers. Since I celebrated my 35th birthday last week, my Mom took me out for lunch and then we hit the mall for a whirlwind afternoon of shopping.

Marineland page

I finished another page today. It is of the whales and dolphins at Marineland from our trip there last summer. I really liked the class last week where we were shown ideas for using puzzle pieces as accents or on tags on scrapbook pages. They look really neat.

Niagara Falls

Tonight I went to a scrapbook class hosted by a friend of mine. It was fun to get together with some friends if only for a short time. This friend puts on monthly page classes that come from Scrapaholic. I have loved the designs of both of the classes I have attended so far. This months colours are awesome and the technique was using puzzle pieces as embellishments or on the pictures. I am not done yet, but I can't decide on a title. I think brown is my favourite colour to scrap with and it looks so good with anything. I decided to put pictures of me and daughter on the Maid of the Mist and a picture of the Canadian Niagara Falls of course. I can't wait to go back and visit there again someday.

El Yunque

I made this page tonight and I am slowly getting to the end of this album. This page is of the rainforest in Puerto Rico. We went on a tour at the end of our cruise before we flew home. I really like how this one turned out. It was a really interesting place to visit.

Sunday, March 25, 2007

This page is from pictures of a cruise I went on last year to attend my cousin's wedding. I am finally getting to scrapping the last day of the trip. I am determined to get the album done this month.

the Beginning

Well, I finally jumped in and decided to start a blog. I have seen all the wonderful blogs out there and hope to be inspired with mine. I will be sharing some stamping and papercrafting work I have done. Visit soon to see what is new.
